Creating convincing mud!

I am using 3DS Max and I will be rendering in VRay. I would like to know if there is a script or a decent tutorial for creating mud or soil. Basically imagine you dumped a handfull of mud on your table. I want to be able to replicate that in 3D form. What would be the best way to that? I have seen a couple of scripts for randomising sizes of primitives and creating debris as well as randomising materials to be assigned to objects. Those were all found on http://wwwscriptspot.com

I was wondering if anyone would be able to help me?

Kind Regards,

Dave

There is an interesting thread related to snow creation over at my forum that might just work for mud too... it involves the use of a plugin for VRay called BarconMetaball - from the looks of what it can output... mud seems possible. Let me know if it works for you.

Thanks man. Yeah I thought about modifying the snow creation, I saw it over at Evermotion and was thinking about it, I could just do that and then manually add the debris modifier to put some stones in there. I will have a go and then let you know how it turns out.

Thanks again.
